Sound familiar? Twitter is experiencing yet more technical difficulties today. This time users are reporting 500 HTTP server errors as they try to visit their profile pages, while others are having trouble creating tweets.
It is sometimes hard to tell how long these issues are happening or how widespread they are, but Twitter did acknowledge today’s problem on their status blog:
We’re looking into the cause of the 500 errors that are being seen by users on twitter.com. We’re also working on the posting problems that many people are running into when trying to create tweets
Twitter may be it’s own worst enemy, as competitive threats from sites like Google and Facebook will never materialize if Twitter can’t get out of it’s own way and provide reliable service.
I wonder how the frequent problems might affect user’s interest in continuing to use the platform.
