This Friday, August 14th, Bring a Tweep To Lunch is at Syberg’s in Maryland Heights. This location is out west, close to Westport, so hopefully some of those asking for a western location can come by and have lunch.
If you have never been out to a Tweet-up or other social networking event, and are maybe a little uneasy about coming out from behind your keyboard, let me suggest that this is the perfect opportunity to get your feet wet.
Todd Jordan, @tojosan, who organizes these lunches, is the warmest, most welcoming individual you are likely to come across, and his easy-going vibe rubs off on everyone who comes to lunch. What you normally encounter is a group of people having a nice lunch and a nice conversation. You can network yourself or business, telling everyone what you do, but there is no high pressure pitching going on.
As an added bonus this week, Todd’s better half, @nanna_j, will be doing #battl for the last time this year as the start of school will send her back to work after Friday.
No reservations are required, and there is no cost to attend other than your lunch, but please try and let Todd know via a tweet if you are planning on coming as he usually arrives early and tries to make sure there is enough seating for everyone. (And, if you were wondering, #battl is the Twitter hashtag used to discuss the event on Twitter.)

I hope they do some more evening tweetups sometime soon. Hubby, son, and I would all like to attend – but lunchtime is tougher to do for all of us.
