This morning Mixero announced that their Twitter client is now in open beta. Previously it had been available by invitation code only. With the move to open beta comes a slew of new features as well as well as some bug fixes. The company is strongly advising those that had invitation codes to upgrade as well.
So, what are those new features? Continue reading to find out, and get the download link.
Facebook integration
Press “Add Facebook” on the login screen to turn on Facebook account. The authentication data will be asked for by Facebook during the Mixero login process. The Facebook account in Mixero works and feels pretty much the same as a Twitter account. Some functions, however, are currently not available or not yet activated due to the limitations of the Facebook API.
Twitter lists
At the first login to each of Twitter accounts Mixero will suggest you synchronize your groups (if you have any) with Twitter. If you have any in Mixeroo, those will be exported to Twitter as lists. Mixero will also load all your Twitter lists that have no corresponding Mixero groups.
Twitter does have a limit of 20 lists per user. Mixero doesn’t have a limit, but if you have more groups/lists in Mixero, your Mixero groups will only synchronize with Twitter up to that 20 list limit. However, there is an option within Mixero to choose which of your lists are synchronized with Twitter from the Options/Synchronization panel.
Iphone App
Mixero has a free app for the Iphone, but we have not tested that out yet.
Mixero also has plans for geotagging & supporting the new retweet feature in Twitter. They actively listen to customer feedback, so if you hate that new retweet feature, make sure to let them know.
You can download either the desktop or Iphone app (or both) here.
