UPDATE: Many people are reporting having trouble viewing the new Globe Democrat site, and the Globe is reporting that they are having technical trouble with users with AT&T internet service. We have also heard there are people having trouble viewing the mobile version of the site. We will keep you posted.
After seven years of planning, and just over 23 years since the last print edition, the Globe Democrat is back in St. Louis as of this morning. The Globe Democrat this time around will be strictly digital, and in a letter this morning, publisher Dan Rositano promised to embrace new media in distributing the news:
The internet is the future of news and as a result we are going to concentrate on providing you, our readers, with the best user experience in the market. We are the only news company that will focus solely on the web and the distribution of news to all digital platforms. As a result, we will strive to make your digital experience the best in St. Louis.
They are trying to pull off a giant task here, competing with a paper with a well established base, but I wish them well. The more news media St. Louis has thriving, the better.
Check out the new St. Louis Globe Democrat.
Do you think they can compete with the Post Dispatch? Leave me a comment…

Dan, Good luck with your new venture. More voices are always welcome.
Thanks for the comment! Hopefully the new Globe does very well. More sources of information are always welcome.
