Today, Google is launching Google Buzz, a new product that will attempt to make your Gmail inbox your social media hub. Or as they call it: “a new way to start conversations about the things you find interesting and share updates, photos, videos and more.”
The feature will be rolled out to Gmail users over the next couple of days. You will know you have it when there is a Buzz label right under your inbox in Gmail. We don’t have it yet, so we will reserve comment and judgment on the feature until we have a chance to try it out. There is a lot to digest here, with a mobile version and some location features and maps integration as well. It has the potential to be game-changing – like we said we have to get our hands on it before we can be sure – but it could be just another Wave. (what, too soon?)
Until then, check out the demo video from Google:
